  2008 Enrollment Process
Application deadline is May 16, 2008

Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (SBSLI) applications will be accepted beginning April 28, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. Applications may be submitted electronically or by U.S. mail. Agencies are encouraged to pre-check their candidates prior to completing applications via POST's Internet-based Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system.

All SBSLI applications must be received electronically (or postmarked) by 5:00 p.m., May 16, 2008. A total of 475 applications will be accepted. A maximum of 5 applications per agency may be submitted.

Applications received prior to April 28th, or after May 16th, will not be accepted and will be returned to the agencies for re-submission during the next open enrollment period.

Electronic Applications
To submit applications via the Internet, agencies should use the Electronic Data Interchange system. Approved users may utilize EDI to:

  •
Pre-check potential candidates from their agency for SBSLI eligibility.
  •
Electronically submit qualified SBSLI applications for their agency during the open enrollment period. (POST requires that agencies keep completed (signed with original signatures) paper versions of the SBSLI applications at the agency. Do not send them to POST.).

Agencies that do not already have access to EDI for SBSLI should request EDI access as soon as possible by filling out a POST 3-101 Electronic Data Interchange Access Application (doc). The completed form should be printed and submitted to POST by fax (916.227.5271) or mail. If you have questions or need assistance with EDI, please contact Kathy Pope by email at Kathy.Pope@post.ca.gov or by telephone at 916.227.4807.

Paper Applications
Please fill out the POST 2-122 Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute Application (doc) and send it by U.S. mail or delivery service to POST at the address on the application during the open-enrollment period. Faxed applications will not be accepted.

Further inquiries may be directed to Nani Vang, POST SBSLI Coordinator, at 916.227.2821 or by email at Nani.Vang@post.ca.gov.
