| CPT Credit: 6 Hours
Description: Students go on three calls, starting
with the call from dispatch through interviewing the victim and
determining charges. The student must gather information, collect
evidence, determine appropriate charges, and do all this by establishing
the victims trust. One can go on a call as many times as desired.
Organization
Course Orientation: New users learn how to move
through the "virtual reality" environment, gather evidence,
and interview the parties. Students should complete the orientation
before going on the first call.
Calls: There are three calls, "3938 Stonebrook Way,"
"4479 Del Ray," "4849 Sunset Drive."
Scoring
A students performance is evaluated in four areas:
Trust, Facts, Evidence Collection, and Charges. The passing score
in each area is 50%. These results are viewed only by the student.
When all calls have been successfully completed, a "pass"
is sent to Managers Edge.TM
Features
Penal Code: The student has access to the Penal
Code sections dealing with sexual assault and related crimes.
DNA Evidence: Information from the National Institute
of Justice entitled, "What Every Officer Should Know About
DNA Evidence".
Resources: Sexual assault investigation resources including
agencies, California Department of Justice units, and other training
materials.
