CPT Credit: 4 Hours
Description: This course meets the requirements
for hazmat refresher training at the awareness level as specified
by the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI). The course
references the 2000 Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG2000).
Note: The course is copyrighted by OnGuard, and POST distribution
and use of the course is restricted to California law enforcement
agencies and training presenters, and Hazmat will run only on computers
POST configured computer.
Organization
Diagnostic Quiz: Fifty-item test designed to assess the students
current knowledge of hazmat. Test results are divided into sections
corresponding with the lessons of the course. One can then determine
which sections to emphasize when taking the course.

- General Principles
- Recognizing the Incident - Part I
- Recognizing the Incident - Part II
- Safety, Isolation, and Notification
Scenarios: Student applies what has been learned to three
different hazmat situations: an incident at a nursery, one at a
drug lab, and another at a spill from a truck. Only one scenario
needs to be completed. Each time one takes the course, a new scenario
is presented.

Scoring:
Final Quiz: The passing score on the 20-item quiz is 70%. The
quiz can be taken two times before having to re-take the course.
