CPT Credit: 10 Hours
Description: Covers recognizing, testing, and
apprehending a DUI offender. Realistic scenarios depict each step
of a DUI incident: observation, stop, interview, field sobriety
tests, and arrest. An agency's policy for handling certain situations
may be different from what is presented in the course. Students
taking the course should be thoroughly familiar with their local
policy.
The two courses, Drug Identification and the Law and Drug
Influence and User Identification should be taken
before this course.
Organization
Tutorial: Covers the design of the courses and
how to use the navigational features.
Introduction: Provides a memo welcoming the student to
River City and a short video explaining in general what the student
will learn.
Lessons: Each lesson has three parts:
Overview gives key points covered in detail in
the reference manual.
Preparation helps students determine what they
already know. The results, which only the student is able to see,
help the student determine which topics to emphasize while studying.
Practice - gives students the opportunity to apply what
has been learned from the overview and the reference manual.
Comprehensive Practices: Video-based scenarios provide
students an opportunity to apply what they've learned from the lessons.
Scoring
Final Quiz: The passing score is 80%.
Features
In order to pass the course, the student must study all
the lessons and comprehensive practice and pass the final quiz,
which can be taken more than once.
Reference Manual: The course has a reference manual on
the CD-ROM. The manual, which is in Adobe Acrobat® format, can
be accessed from anywhere in the course and can be printed.
Glossary: The glossary, which is the same for all four
of the drug courses, contains relevant terms and definitions. It
also can be accessed from anywhere in the course.
