Description: This course meets the requirements
for perishable skills training in communications and counts toward
either the interpersonal or tactical communication requirement.
Organization
Six lessons cover the following major topics:
Nonverbal Communication, Defusing, Deflecting, Redirecting, Persuading,
and Command Presence
Game: “Walk the Talk” is a game of eighteen questions that
tests a student's ability to recognize communication techniques,
identify nonverbal behaviors that would facilitate communication
in particular situations, and select appropriate responses to various
people and situations.
Scoring
A student must win the “Walk the Talk” game with at least
140 out of a possible 200 points to successfully complete the course.
Features
The student is able to play the game at any time. If the
game is won, the course is passed. If the student loses the game,
any unfinished lessons must be completed before trying the game
again.
