How to Use POST’s RSS Feeds

 

What is RSS?

RSS (“Really Simple Syndication”) is a method for delivering regularly-changing web information directly to you. POST provides several RSS feeds with the latest POST-related news and announcements:

  • What’s New
  • Administrative Progress Reports
  • California POST Training Network (Monthly Program Guide)
  • Law Enforcement Job Opportunities
  • Notices of Regulatory Action
  • POST Bulletins

How do I subscribe to a POST RSS feed?

1. Any time you see the RSS icon () on a POST webpage, you can click on it to subscribe to the RSS feed.

 

2. After clicking on the Icon , do the following:

 

If you are using the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web browser:

Click on the link that says “Subscribe to this feed.” For example:

The “Subscribe to this Feed” window opens. Click on the Subscribe Button:

If you are using the Firefox Web browser:

Click the button that says “Subscribe Now.” For example:

The “Subscribe with Live Bookmark” window opens. Click on the Subscribe button:

3. You have now subscribed to the POST RSS feed!

Once I have subscribed, how do I use the RSS Feed?

If you are using the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web browser:

1. Click on the Favorites icon
2. Select the tab labeled “Feeds”
3. Click the RSS feed you want to use, then click to read articles of interest:

If you are using the Firefox Web browser:

1. The subscribed RSS feeds appear on the “Bookmark Toolbar.”
· (If you do not see this toolbar, you can display it by selecting “View” on the menu, then “Toolbars” and clicking “Bookmarks Toolbar”)
2. Select the desired RSS feed on the toolbar. The RSS feed’s articles will appear.
3. Click to read articles of interest:
