New Peace Officer & Public Safety Dispatcher Selection Requirements Now in Effect
Effective July 1, 2009, the revised peace officer and public safety dispatcher selection standards (New PAM Chapter 5: Selection Requirements) have replaced Regulations 1002, 1018(c), and Commission Procedures C-1 and C-2.
An overview of the changes to these requirements is contained in the Summary of POST Peace Officer Selection Standards (pdf) and Summary of POST Public Safety Dispatcher Selection Standards (pdf). Additionally, Peace Officer Selection Standards FAQs and Public Safety Dispatcher Selection Standards FAQs have been developed to assist agencies with the understanding and application of the new requirements.
