Training Reimbursement Program

enforcement agencies in the POST program for travel, lodging, meals, tuition, and backfill costs.
Annually, the Reimbursement Unit process more than 55,000 claims for reimbursement, totaling approximately
$22 million. Local agencies submit Training Reimbursement Request - POST 2-273 (pdf) to the course presenter
upon completion of training. Reimbursement procedures are described in the POST

Contracts
POST processes approximately 250 contracts each year, totaling
more than $16 millon. These contracts cover operational services
as well as field operation contracts for law enforcement training,
meetings, broadcast services, driver simulators, force options simulators,
agency training and technology needs.
A POST-assigned project coordinator negotiates the contracts, most
of which require POST Commission approval. After Commission approval
is received, the contract analyst develops the contracts in compliance
with State rules and regulations. Contract preparation takes approximately
thirty (30) business days before the contract can to be mailed to
the contractor for signature. After the contractor returns the signed
contract to POST, another 15 business days is required to gain final
approval of the contract.
