 Training Administrators’ Course
 General Information

The Training Administrator’s Course is designed for law enforcement and non-sworn individuals who manage the administration of POST-certified training courses. Presented by POST staff, the course offers practical orientation to the responsibilities of a course administrator, using interactive exercises and adult learning techniques. The course covers the entire certification process, relevant POST procedures and regulations, and provides necessary information to establish and administer POST certified courses. It will cover the paperwork required before, during, and after a course has been approved, certified and presented.

Courses are offered in both Northern and Southern California. While attendees are required to attend the nearest workshop, the POST Regional Consultant may waive this requirement. The 16-hour course is conducted over the period of three days (four hours on day one, eight hours on day two, and four hours on day three) to allow for the first and last day travel, requiring only two nights of lodging. Travel and per diem reimbursement are allowed pursuant to POST Letter of Agreement or Training Reimbursement Request.

Due to limited enrollment, each agency may request enrollment for one attendee per session (a backup person should be identified in the event the primary is unable to attend.) A request for enrollment is not an automatic admission to the course; each POST Regional Consultant must approve and prioritize requests from the Consultant's agencies. To submit a request to attend the course, access the POST Training Administrator Course Request.
