CPT Credit: 14 Hours
Description: The student learns about planning
and conducting narcotics investigations. The course includes six
comprehensive scenarios, which build on one another. Placed in the
midst of these scenarios, the student has to make decisions that
determine the success or failure of the narcotics investigations.
Note: This course is for the use of sworn law enforcement
personnel, and the course materials are not to be copied or used
outside the agency. If an officer takes the course individually,
it is strongly recommended that an experienced narcotics officer
(one who is a graduate of a POST-certified 80-hour narcotics investigations
course) be available to answer questions. (This person does not
have to be present, though, while a student is actually studying.)
When the course is used in a classroom setting, it is also strongly
recommended that the instructor be an experienced narcotics officer.
An agency's policy for handling certain situations may be different
from what is presented in the course. Students taking the course
should be thoroughly familiar with their local policy
