CPT Credit: 4 Hours

Description: Students go on two calls, starting with the call from dispatch through completing a report and submitting it for review. Using a form of "virtual reality," students look for evidence, interview the parties, and take photographs. A student’s performance is evaluated by the actions taken at the scene and by how well the report helped make the case. One can go on a call as many times as desired.

Organization
Orientation: New users learn how to move through the "virtual reality" environment, gather evidence, interview the parties, and complete the report. All students should complete the orientation before going on the first call.

Calls: There are two calls, "1412 Selmar" and "223 Maple Shade Rd."

Learning Points: Short segments highlighting particular topics appear automatically following completion of each call. These include "Long-Term Nature of DV Cases," "Child Abuse Counseling," "Foreign Restraining Orders," and "DV Stalking."

Scoring
A student’s performance is evaluated in four areas: Evidence Collection, Statement Collection, Arrest/Actions, and Court Orders. The passing score in each area is 50%. These results are viewed only by the student. When both calls have been successfully completed, a "pass" is sent to Manager’s Edge.^TM
