Course Description
The course is designed for currently assigned homicide investigators.
Additional information about this course can be accessed online
using the POST
Catalog of Certified Courses.
The course includes:
- identifying the crime scene
- determining probable cause of death
- preserving evidence
- interviewing witnesses
- filing crinimal complaints and court preparation
- investigating "cold" cases
At the conclusion of this training course, the investigator
will be able to:
- identify essential elements of a crime scene
- identify the probable cause of death
- preserve evidence
- prepare reports for filing
- prepare a case for prosecution
