The focus of the Executive Development Course (EDC) is to provide
a different perspective regarding the roles of leaders in their
respective organizations. The course is interactive and provides
training on a variety of topics associated with organizational dynamics
and development, personal and group leadership, and communication
skills. This course is also a prerequisite for agency heads to obtain
POST's Executive Certificate (Commission procedure F-1-10). The
course covers the following topics:
- Organizational Analysis
- Police Administration
- Role of Leadership
- Legal Issues
- The Challenge of Change
- Media Relations
- Perspectives on the Executive Role
- Executive Experience
- Organizational Communications

All sessions of the Executive Development Course for fiscal year 2008-2009 are filled. However, you can request to be put on a waiting list.
