Special Messages from POST Staff

Introducing New POST Employee - Anne Brewer, Law Enforcement Consultant I Anne Brewer

I started working for POST as a Law Enforcement Consultant on July 28, 2008, and have been assigned to the Training Program Services Bureau. My law enforcement career started in 1991 when I began work as a Deputy Probation Counselor with the Orange County Probation Department, after obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CSU, Fullerton.

I was hired by the CHP in 1995 and worked in various assignments throughout the state including field, vehicle theft, and Governor’s Protection Detail.  I promoted to sergeant in early 2001 and went into the commercial field.  The last three years of my time with CHP was spent at the Academy in West Sacramento as the CHP’s statewide training coordinator/liaison with POST.  I left CHP at the end of 2005 for an opportunity to purchase and run my own business, a restaurant/bar/catering company, in South Lake Tahoe.

After selling my business this summer, I decided to return to state employment and work for an agency which I have a great deal of respect for - POST.  I am grateful to be a member of this organization, and look forward to continuing to serve the law enforcement field on behalf of POST.

My current assignment is in the POST Basic Training Bureau, where I will be dealing with the FTO/PTO programs, the initial dispatcher school, and the state investigators’ basic course.  I will also handle the campus law enforcement officer school, the aviation security course, and the district attorney investigator course.  My secondary duties will include assisting with the Basic Course Certification Review.

I am looking forward to new opportunities and challenges at POST, and I am fortunate to be here and eager to learn my new duties.

Linda Sabella

Introducing New POST Employee - Linda Sabella, Assistant Information Systems Analyst

I first recognized my “inner geek” in 1983 when I bought a home computer. Things have never been the same since. I found a fascination with all things computer related and brought that passion into my work place, Center Unified School District. Soon, I was running a computer lab and teaching computer skills to K-6 grade students.  I sought out more challenges and eventually worked in the district office at CUSD, maintaining the many servers and workstations.

Still seeking new challenges, I went to work for CBS Television, managing the IT needs of KOVR and KMAX TV. I learned a great deal about the industry and I worked with a variety of broadcast equipment. After more than 10 years in the industry, I felt it was time to explore new horizons.

I’ve always enjoyed showing others how to make technology work for them, so working at the Help Desk is a perfect fit for me. I'm excited to be part of the POST team and I’m happy to take your call.
